“Ideas in Development” blog is IQsensato’s official blog. The blog is intended to provide a space to share and debate ideas and insights on development policy by, and with, IQsensato directors, staff, policy advisors, research associates and guest contributors.

IQsensato’s goal is to shape international policy-making on development.

IQsensato’s purpose is to inform development policy-making by undertaking research, communicating results and stimulating debate by providing access to the work and perspectives of developing country researchers and experts.

IQsensato is a research and communications organization that works through:

• the Research Programme, which provides high-quality, interdisciplinary research and policy advice;
• the Communications Programme, which stimulates well informed policy debate and promotes consensus building around sustainable and practical solutions to development problems; and
• The Leadership in Research Programme, which develops research and communication skills in developing countries.

These three programmes are supported our administration, finance and events programme.

IQsensato provides a range of consulting services to clients, from commissioned research and policy advisory services, to specialist research communication tools.

IQsensato projects are developed with the support of the advisory board, who review the strategic research and communication priorities of the organization.

IQsensato works in support of equitable human development, but beyond this it is not a political organization. IQsensato also recognizes:

• the global nature of development policy, but is particularly committed to supporting well informed policy debate in developing countries; and
• that a well informed policy debate must include civil society, academic organizations, governments, the public and private sectors and international institutions, and is crucial to the development of consensus and innovative solutions around policy-making.
