Book Launch: Implementing the WIPO’s Development Agenda

Today, 10 July 2009, another Geneva Seminar on Development Research (GSDR), IQsensato’s flagship seminar series takes place in Geneva. The seminar will launch and discuss the twelve-chapter book “Implementing the WIPO’s Development Agenda“, edited by Jeremy de Beer with a Foreword by Daniel Gervais and an Afterword by Christopher May, from Lancaster University.

This is a ground breaking book to which I contributed a chapter on “Strategies to Implement the WIPO Development Agenda: the Brazillian Experience”. The seminar should prove very interesting. Some of the commentary on the book by leading scholars demonstrate its importance.

For example, for Prof. Peter Drahos “This book should be read by all those interested in the complex connections amongst international governance, intellectual property rights, and development.”

And Prof. Michael Geist:

“With contributions from leading scholars from around the world, this essential collection represents the next stage in the evolution of the Development Agenda as it grapples with how to advance from conceptual framework to practical implementation.”
