Dr. Fabio C. Morosini, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil
Dr. Morosini, a Brazilian national, is a Professor in Law at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul where he teaches and undertakes research on international trade and environmental protection; international investment; international contracts; private international law; international arbitration; comparative legal studies; and methods in law. He is also a member of a number of professional associations including: Latin American Association of Private International Law; International Law Association - Brazil Branch; and the Brazilian Society of International Law. He has previously held a number of other positions including at the Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, Getulio Vargas Foundation School of Law at Sao Paulo, International Court of Arbitration and the International Chamber of Commerce, and Baptista da Silva Advogados, among others.
Dr. Morosini who is widely published in his areas of research, holds a Ph.D in international trade law from the University of Texas at Austin; a Masters in law and economic globalization from the University of Paris 1/ Institute of Political Studies of Paris; a Masters in Law (LL.M) in intellectual property law from the University of Texas at Austin; and a Bachelor of Law degree from the Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul. His Ph.D thesis was on the topic “The MERCOSUR and WTO Retreaded Tires Dispute: Rehabilitating Regulatory Competition in International Trade and Environmental Regulation”.
