Mr. Enga Kameni, Center for the Study of AIDS
Mr. Kameni, a Cameroonian national, is a legal associate with the Center for the Study of AIDS in a project for the Parliament of Namibia. He advises a parliamentary portfolio committee on issues related to HIV/AIDS with particular emphasis on legal and human rights aspects. He is also a visiting lecturer (TRIPS, Access to Medicines and Regional Integration) at the Good Governance Programme of the University of Pretoria, University of KwaZulu Natal, University of Western Cape as well as a visiting legal scholar at Mills Legal Clinic, Stanford Law School. He also provides consulting services for local and international organisations. In 2007, he worked as a trade researcher with the regional integration programme of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), Parliamentary Forum, based in Windhoek, Namibia. In 2005 he had a brief stint with the legal department of the African Intellectual Property Organisation (OAPI), and from June 2003 to July 2006 he was an associate of the corporate and litigation department of JING & Partners Law Firm, Douala, Cameroon.
Mr. Kameni holds a Bachelors of Law (LL.B) from the University of Buea, Cameroon, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Law from the University of Yaoundé II, Soa, Cameroon, a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from Tulane Law School/Humboldt University, a Diploma in African Law, Customs and Culture from the Catholic University, Brussels and a Masters of Law (LL.M) in International Trade and Investment Law from the University of Western Cape. His research interests include: the dynamics of regional economic integration, intellectual property rights and access to medicines, economic partnership agreements and foreign direct investment flows in Africa.
Mr. Kameni is fluent in French and English and has a basic knowledge of Portuguese.
