IQsensato is a not-for-profit research and communications organisation whose Goal is to provide an International Platform through which researchers from developing countries can inform and shape international policy-making on development-related issues. The original idea of such an organisation was mooted in 2007 by a group of five (5) developing country researchers namely; Samuel Asfaha (Eritrea), Ermias Biadgleng (Ethiopia), Viviana Munoz (Colombia), Tiyanjana Mphepo (Malawi), and Sisule Musungu (Kenya).
The organisation’s purpose is to inform development policy-making by undertaking research, communicating results and stimulating debate by providing access to the work and perspectives of developing country researchers and experts.
IQsensato works through:
- the Research Programme, which provides high-quality, interdisciplinary research and policy advice with the a key focus being the work under the Research Observatory;
- the Communications Programme, which stimulates well informed policy debate; and
- the Leadership in Research Programme, which develops research and communications skills in developing countries.
