Dorica Suvye Phiri, Faculty of Law of the University of Malawi
Mrs. Phiri, a Malawian national, is a law lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Law of the University of Malawi. She worked as a researcher at the South African Institute of International Affairs in a trade project that focused, in particular, on Economic Partnership Agreements and intellectual property rights. She was the first runner-up in the IQSensato Research Award on “The Policy and Practical Impact of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Development Agenda in Developing Countries”.
Mrs. Phiri holds a Masters in International Trade and Investment Law from the University of Pretoria, in South Africa, and a Masters in Intellectual Property Law from WIPO Worldwide Academy and the University of Turin, in Italy. She also holds an LL.B degree from the University of Malawi.
Her research interests include intellectual property rights and sustainable development, international trade and regional integration, the law of foreign direct investment and competition law.
