Book Review - Prosperity Without Growth: Economics for a Finite Planet by Tim Jackson
Is that the sound of the growth mantra finally falling silent?
Tim Jackson, Economics Commissioner on the Sustainable Development Commission, the UK government’s independent advisor on sustainable development and professor at Surrey University, has written a book that argues that the future has to be one without growth. Coming from him and with detailed economic (yes, there are equations) and social arguments, the concept takes on real weight and may be the idea that saves us. The book is a good, relatively easy read, with just enough economic analysis to keep the economist happy during the parts on attitudes of society and in a well written style that keeps the non-economist interested. IQsensato is pleased, on this occassion of the World Intellectual Property Day and the start of the Fifth Session of the WIPO Committee on Development and Intellectual Property (CDIP), to share our latest publication titled “The Development Agenda and the Changing Face of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)”. This Study, presented under the IQsensato Studies series, was authoured by Sisule Musungu.
